GET TO KNOW ME
Hello, I'm Sean and I’m grateful for the opportunity to join you on your journey to better mental health. It’s my hope the information on this website will help you in making what is often a difficult decision, whether or not to meet with a therapist.
I’ve developed skills that have helped me become an excellent listener, I’m able to ask direct questions and my use of appropriate humor makes for a comfortable and productive experience.
I have more than 17 years of experience working with children, adults, families, and couples. My career as a counselor has allowed me to perform many roles including child/adult therapist and group facilitator. While I enjoy working with many populations, my current focus is helping adults dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, stress, men's issues and overcoming a victimhood mindset.
When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our daughter, playing with our Goldendoodle, listening to just about every type of music out there, watching documentaries, enjoying F1 and cheering on Notre Dame football (don’t judge). I believe having a balanced life between my family, personal interests, and career, enables me to be a pretty darn good therapist.
I look forward to working with you!
All the best,
Sean

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY SESSIONS? HOW OFTEN WILL WE MEET?
Prior to your first session I will email you a link to a secure online portal that will contain the necessary paperwork for you to complete in order to get your services started. This paperwork includes a biopsychosocial questionnaire, my business policies and procedures, informed consent forms, and your confidentiality agreement.
At your first session, we will review your paperwork, ensure you understand your rights to and limits regarding confidentiality, and you’ll begin to go into more depth about what you would like to work on in therapy. We will also discuss expectations and set some goals. Subsequent sessions will allow you to further explore your needs by hearing your story, clarifying your therapy objectives, and doing the work to help you reach your goals.
Sessions at the onset are typically scheduled on a weekly basis. Meeting weekly allows us to build trust, create momentum, and get on the fast track to achieving your treatment goals. At some point, clients will move to bi-weekly sessions as they see progress being made. Once you’ve achieved your goals, we can reassess to see if there are new goals to work on or in some cases clients will move to a monthly session as maintenance to ensure their progress is solid.

HOW MUCH DOES THIS INVESTMENT IN MY WELL-BEING COST? DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
Sessions are a 45-53 minute "clinical hour."
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Aetna, Optum, UHC, UMR, Cigna or cash pay. Please contact your insurance carrier for the most current provider information.
Cash pay sessions are:
$125.00 for a 45-50 minute therapy session.
$150.00 for a 45-50 minute initial intake session.
$180.00 for a 75-minute therapy session.
Cash pay allows you to maintain confidentiality with your services and not have a mental health diagnosis in your medical record. I can also work with you as an Out-of-Network (OON) provider, if you would like to use your insurance for potential reimbursement, by providing you with a "Super Bill" that can be submitted to your insurance company. Please note that submitting a claim to your insurance provider requires that I assign you a mental health diagnosis which becomes a part of your medical record. Please contact your insurance provider to determine your Out-of-Network benefits.
You are responsible for verifying your insurance coverage.
Credit, Debit, American Express, Discover and HSA/Flexible Spending Cards are all acceptable forms of payment.
WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE FOR SESSIONS?
Office hours are by appointment only. Please contact me for my current hours of availability. I am unable to accommodate walk-ins.
To get started, schedule a complimentary, 15-minute phone consultation today to determine if I'm a good fit for you and your needs.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Life often throws us curve balls. You can cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 business hours notice and not be charged a "late cancel" fee. However, if you cancel with less than 24 business hours notice or you do not show for your appointment, for any reason, you will be charged the no show/late cancel fee of $50.00.
GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one (1) business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
